DDP continues to capacitate and empower members of civil society and organizations in order for them to fulfill their roles of representing the interests of their respective communities.
Workshop: Understanding Local Government
28-30 May 2010 -- The DDP Cape Town office conducted this pilot workshop working with the community groups from various areas in the Western Cape. The workshop covered the development context, understanding the causes of poverty, developmental local government, the role of local government as well as understanding gender and gender based violence and the role local government can play in issues of prevention and response.
Philisa Abafazi Workshop
14-15 May 2010 -- Philisa Abafazi Bethu is a community based NGO that works with abused women. The Director approached DDP to assist with their annual camp.
