Workshop: Personal Leadership and Mastery
25-27 October 2010, Oaklands Conference Centre -The course was an opportunity to build leadership and personal capacity. Leaders of NGO’s and CBOs as well as leaders in various government departments were invited to be a part of this workshop. The composition of the workshop consisted of political party managers as well as community development worker regional managers (Community Development Worker Programme - DPLG), Directors of Non Governmental Organisations as well as leaders in community based organizations.
One of the criteria used to determine participants was the potential to work in partnership with DDP for future activities.
Feedback from participants was generally positive both at the personal level for self development but also for providing the opportunity to meet other leaders in the region. The workshop provided the facilitators some unique insights into the different types of challenges faced but also raised many possibilities for collaboration and sharing. The group will have a follow up workshop in 2011 to check their progress with their intended changes.
