DDP Programmes
Up one levelLocal Government
The main objective of DDP's local government programme is to develop the capacity of local government stakeholders such as the community, the council and officials to engage with each other effectively.
Civil Society
Civil Society and Civil Society Organisations are playing a crucial part in achieving our aims and objectives. We are reaching civil society through monthly political debates, capacity building and voter education.
Youth
Although the South African youth has been instrumental in the political liberation, their presence continues to fade in post-apartheid South Africa. Find out more how DDP aims to reintroduce the presence of the Youth in the social and political life.
Political Parties
Our aim is to strengthen political parties in South Africa through leadership-, strategic planning-, teambuilding-, and multi-party workshops. These workshops occur on a strictly non-partisan basis.
International Events
The DDP has over the years been invited to be an active participant in a number of international events and conferences in the field of democracy and governance. Some of these include the World Economic Forum, the Pan African Civic Educators Network, CIVICUS, LOGOLINK , the World Movement For Democracy and more recently the India-Brazil-South Africa local Governance Forum. The DDP has a number of ongoing engagements with several international partners both on the continent and in other parts of the world.
