In the recent past there have been a number of contestations widely reported around the issue of Freedom of Expression and Hate Speech.

We are of the view that while formal legal processes are fundamentally necessary and primarily a starting point to entrench and enforce Constitutional values in our society, these matters also warrant some kind of a conversation and national dialogue to unpack the many simmering tensions and fierce deliberations around this important issue. The Provincial Dialogues will culminate into a National Dialogue that the SAHRC will be hosting early next month.

Kindly confirm your availability by completing the attached form and forwarding it to M. Sibisi via email at Msibisi@sahrc.org.za or telephone/fax 031-3047323 by Tuesday 15th November 2011. Please note that space is limited and will be allocated on a first come basis.
