Building School centred communities – Rediscovering new possibilities

Would you like to be part of a new conversation about our schools and how we can start to engage each other as parents, educators, learners and officials through “new eyes” in order to?

• Talk about possibilities rather than challenges?
• Learn from each other about successes ( and failures).
• Listen and find each other as members of communities and hear our stories.
• Listen to the voices of different stakeholders in order to understand, reflect and acknowledge the gifts and possibilities we bring into our communities.

Join us for a day of conversations around these and other topics that you might want to talk about. At this event no momentous decisions will be made, no long speeches will be heard and no great resolutions drafted. BUT, perhaps through our talking and listening we can start to explore ways out of the present “stuckness” that is like a cancer eating away at the very fabric of our society – our institutions of learning.
We would like to give preference to schools with a request that you bring along a fair representation of your stakeholders (school governing body members, educators and learners and if possible department officials that you work with (a maximum of five per school).

However this need not be initiated by the School. If you are a concerned parent or a member of a governing body you could also initiate the participation of the school that you are involved in.
We have chosen to have this on a Saturday so that you would be able to attend. Can you afford not to be there?
