The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) in partnership with the Democracy Development Programme (DDP) has pleasure in inviting you or a representative from your organisation to attend a LEGISLATIVE BRIEFING SEMINAR on the Promotion of Equality and Prevention of Unfair Discrimination Act.

Time : 08h30 – 14h00
The workshop objectives are to -:
Broaden the understanding of relevant stakeholders on this legislation;
Facilitate better compliance with the legislation by all stakeholders in order to ensure that rights are fulfilled;
Explore ways in which stakeholders can support each other in the implementation of this legislation.
Identify possible concerns relating to the implementation of this legislation;
This Act gives effect to Section 9 (Equality) of the Constitution. The seminar aims to ensure that participants deepen their understanding of the Act, its purpose as well as the manner in which it is implemented.
The panel of experts include, UKZN’s Professor Karthy Govender, Magistrate: Ms C. Moolman and Clerk of the Equality Court: Mr T. Ntombela. The seminar is targeted at all stakeholders (both civil society and government departments) who work directly with the provisions of this legislation.
