Parliament's passing of the Proction of Statae Information Bill (POSIB) on Tueasday, 22 November 2011 shocked us all.  Civil society, the media and and religious sectors have been vocal about their opposition to the Bill and its muzzling of the press.  In the lastest move, the matter is now being filtered through to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) for public debate.

Speakers: Right2Know (Eric Tate); SANEF (Nic Dawes - Editor - Mail and Guardian); Diakonia Council of Churches (Rev. Ian Booth: Chairperson); Ravi Pillay (ANC)

Chair: DUT Journalism Advisory Board Chairperson - Mary Papayya

Venue: Durban University of Technology Conference Centre, corner of Ritson Road and Winteron Walk, entrance via Gate 9

Please RSVP to rsvp@ddpdurban.org.za / fax: 031 3062261, no later than 17 February 2012
