A decision was taken for R2K nationally to host night vigils to increase the level of awareness to the Protection of State Information Bill and the Right2Know Campaign. This would be hosted simultaneously as unified events. The KZN chapter chose to stage events outside the Presidents House in Eastbourne Road, Morningside.
Kate Skinner of Save Our SABC (SOS), now known as the Save Public Broadcaster Campaign agreed to participate in a host of presentations in Durban in collaboration with R2K-KZN, talking raising awareness to the POIB, R2K and the SOS Campaign. A series of three workshops were organized in Durban, the venues being, Durban University of Technology (DUT), University of Kwa-Zulu Natal (UKZN) and in the Wentworth community south of Durban.
