Dialogue on Racism and Diversity
16 March 2009, Riverside Hotel, Durban North - There has been a reluctance to deal openly and truthfully about the complexity of Race and Diversity issues in South Africa. The recent xenophobic attacks and the ongoing racial divide have deeper roots that, if not dealt with in an appropriate manner, may well result in a worsening crisis.
In an attempt to provide a fresh perspective on these issues four organizations (the Human Rights Commission, The Democracy Development Programme, Black Sash and the Centre for Community Law and Rural Development Centre) brainstormed the idea of bringing together critical stakeholders in the Province to participate in a dialogue about Race and Diversity.
