Workshop: Understanding Local Government
Following several requests from associate members and up-coming organisations in the field of Local Government, the DDP local government desk organised a workshop for participants who ranged from NGOs to the private sector.

The purpose was to discuss Local Government Sphere with a view to further understand the processes associated with community participation. It became evident to the group that gaps during the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) are still conspicuous.
This group resolved to recommend to the DDP to further convene a similar workshop early in 2010 that will isolate areas of involvement in preparation for engaging communities during current Council’s term of office and beyond.
