Partners in Transformation - Workshop Inserts

Partners in Transformation Workshop: Biyela Traditional Court (Bhekashowe).
This initiative by DDP was to bring together municipal stakeholders particularly the traditional leadership to be au fait with municipal processes. Present on the day were the three traditional authorities; Mzimela, Zulu and Biyela.
Partners in Transformation Workshop: Mpungose Traditional Authority
24 – 26 August 2010 - The DDP facilitators had to experience first hand the ‘power of the tree’ when they learnt of the brutal murder of one Induna that was part of the 1st day of the 3 day workshop DDP had on “Partners in Transformation” in the Mpungose Traditional Authority. As if ominous of what was to happen, two Traditional leaders in different venues prior to this took keen interest in the DDP banner that depicts people sitting in a circle under the tree.
Amakhosi Meeting
13 April 2010 - Ms Mpume Shezi representing the DDP Local government desk held a meeting on the proposed capacity trainings in UMlalazi Municipality. The Deputy Manager Mr. S. Mashabane was instrumental in orchestrating the processes to include the Municipal Manager Mr. Gerber and Mr. Williams, Manager Corporate services.
Amakhosi Information Sharing Workshop
21 May 2010 - UMlalazi council having signed an MOU with DDP regarding trainings saw it important to officially engage in a process of taking Amakhosi through the structures and contents of the workshops as well as projected outcomes.
Ward Committee Induction Workshop
18 – 19 May 2010 - This workshop followed after the Municipality and the DDP had formally entered into the Partnership agreement on the 4th of May 2010. The proposal to enter into such an agreement came at a right time for the municipality as several wards held by-elections replacing old ward committee structures as well as councilors with new ones.
23 October 2008 (Hluhluwe Hotel & Safaris)
This review process brought together DDP management and Speakers from the Umkhanyakude District. Local Municipalities represented were: Jozini, Mtubatuba, Big 5, Umhlabuyalingana, Hlabisa and a representative of a speaker from the District.
