Amakhosi Meeting
13 April 2010 - Ms Mpume Shezi representing the DDP Local government desk held a meeting on the proposed capacity trainings in UMlalazi Municipality. The Deputy Manager Mr. S. Mashabane was instrumental in orchestrating the processes to include the Municipal Manager Mr. Gerber and Mr. Williams, Manager Corporate services.

The main aim of this visit was to address Amakhosi and present the whole idea behind the proposed trainings and possibly alleviate any fears relating to political ploy which is the concern in the area.
The presentation at this point particularly targeted Amakhosi for the overall buy in and inclusion in the municipal processes. There was unanimous decision to welcome the idea of training, for Izinduna would also “like to see uniformity in carrying out their duties” as put by one of them during the session.
