Scope of work We focus on democratic theory, political theory, practices of democracy, citizenship and rights and social policy. |
- Deepening democracy – conceptually and empirically study the evolution of the democratic process in different contexts. Research outputs
- Rights and citizenship – analysing meanings and practices of citizenship and gauging perceptions and experiences of rights and citizenship in different contexts.
- Citizenship participation - analysing various approaches to participation and exploring how citizens engage the state to demand / claim social rights. Research outputs

– evaluating legislation and policies in
terms of its ability to reduce inequality and poverty.

Advocacy
We work with academic and research institutions, NGOs, local communities, social movements, CBOs, trade unions, to disseminate information and build awareness about topical socio-political issues.
